I had been looking for someone that’s offering a different perspective on photography as a whole. I contacted Dan mainly because he had a vision that seemed different to the typical boring portrait session and if you want to stand out I do believe you need different.

The way Dan communicates and gives direction is next level. He’s very good at creating a safe space to feel comfortable in.

I’m a photographer myself so to be honest I didn’t know what to expect. I trusted Dan fully after the first few minutes with his calm and relaxed nature. I actually cried when Dan sent me the images. They feel like a snapshot of me and all the little quirks I have, which is an incredibly talented thing for someone to be able to photograph.

Since receiving the portraits I’ve had them updated on my website and online portfolio. These will be extremely valuable for sending to casting agents for future roles.

This was no ordinary portrait session. I do believe Dan is offering something extremely valuable for growth as a human. The session felt more like a safe space I could express who I am rather than a typical portrait session. Dan gave me the space to be my genuine self. When you mix that with an artist as passionate as Dan, there’s nothing else you need. It’s something I think every person would benefit from in one way or another. I found a new appreciation for how great it feels to let go and just be me. You can’t put a price on that experience.

Not just anyone could bring what Dan does to these shoots, it’s just who he is as a photographer, artist and great human that make it work seamlessly. Anyone can take a portrait but this is art, it’s snapshots of your history as a human and something you’ll be proud to share with the world.

I just rescued a shelter pup and wanted a portrait to celebrate her joining our family!

At first I was a bit nervous because I wasn’t sure how Pickles would react to being in a studio environment. Daniel calmed those nerves instantly with his calm demeanour and selection of dog treats for Pickles to enjoy. She went from being shy and anxious to being the star of the show!

The final portraits were so much better than I could have imagined. Pickles looks like she’s in a Purina ad!

I’ve framed my favourite shots to hang up in my salon as well as posted them all over social media.
